Message from the Head

Dear Parents

What strange weather we have been having this week – glorious sunshine and snow showers…..it has been so much easier to cope with now that we are in our new buildings!!

On Thursday the school hosted a fantastic Primary school Music / Singing event for the 3 local Primary schools. Well done to Mr Dottridge for leading on this event.,

Also good luck to Year 11 who have their GCSE English Language Examination on Tuesday straight after the Bank Holiday Monday. From my point of view, I know how hard the girls in Year 11 have been working in their lessons and in after school sessions for success in this subject – they will I am sure be very confident with this exam.

Wishing you all a very pleasant extended weekend.

Ruth Holden

Thursday 28th April Year 8 LSSSA Athletics competition

7 girls took part in the annual LSSSA competition competing in a range of Events including Javelin, Shot put, long jump, high jump and track. The girls who took part were very competitive. They were extremely supportive of each other cheering each other on when they were not competing.

We had lots of successes Chantelle Tabeni came first in her race in the 300m, Suraya Ellis Davis won the discus and will represent Lewisham in the London schools event in May. Mercedes Gordon came first in her heat of the 200m.

We also came 2nd in our heat of the 100m relay. The girls represented Sydenham with Pride. We were also joined by 3 year 10 students who were junior coaches helping and supporting our girls but also students from other schools.

Thank you Shauawana Roberts Edwards, Gabby Mullings and Iris Krizone Kone.
