Dance Montage

The Montage of Dance Works show yesterday in my opinion was absolutely fantastic. I'm extremely privileged to run a dance company filled with such talented and passionate girls, they worked so hard for this and it all paid off. They carried themselves like professionals and danced with such grace. They should all be extremely proud of themselves. Our aim for the show was to showcase the company's amazing talent and to put the company's name out there, and the girls couldn't have done it any better. Thank you to all the teachers and staff who helped and to all the family and friends who came to support us.

Dance for camera

As part of their final scheme of work 'Dance for Camera' Year 9 students will be filming their dances in different areas of the new building in their lessons during the next two weeks. They are creating site specific dance films which they will edit and be assessed on in the final weeks of term. They will be around the building for half of their lesson and I will be circling the groups as they do this.

Random Act of Kindness

We are pleased to announce our first ‘Random Act of Kindness’ day was a wonderful success this week!
Our #RAK day occurred on Monday, and it was clear our Girls made a particular effort to be extra kind on the day. We had many #RAK submissions written down and posted into boxes around the school. Some Random Acts of Kindness included:
#RAK18 ‘Maeva was by my side all day for 2 days to make sure I was ok with my sprained ankle’ – Shakia 7N
#RAK24 ‘Zala shared her lunch with me’ – Amy Year 8
#RAK37 ‘A group of girls left their rubbish on one of the dining tables. As I was carrying the plates etc. towards the bin, a girl in a blue shirt named Annie Marie offered to help carry the rubbish to the bin on my behalf. I was very touched. Thank you Annie Marie!!’ – Beverley (Midday Supervisor)
#RAK44 ‘Maci in 7D, made a great effort in a Sports day race to help and encourage fellow contestant to finish’ – Several staff members
Well done to all who made a special effort to be kind on Monday.

Sports Day

Many of the students favourite day came this week. The weather was beautiful for Sports Day 2015 at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre this Wednesday as years 7-10 pitted themselves against each other.
Year vs year, Form vs form, friend vs friend, the competition was fierce and hotly contested. Students sprinted, threw and jumped throughout the day.

The track in south London wasn’t left entirely to the students however, staff and parents took to the blocks to show them how it's not done, pulling muscles, complaining that they wore the wrong shoes and generally making empty promises.
A massive thanks to all the parents who took the time to come down to cheer on the girls, thanks to the staff who organised and marshalled the event and a big thanks and well done to the girls who took part, working hard and being so supportive of each other.
