School Closed to Pupils 22nd and 23rd January

One final  reminder that the school will be closed to students on Thursday 22nd January and Friday 23rd January 2015 for staff training.

These are important INSET days focussing on ICT development and training. Staff will be developing themselves in how to utilise technology to maximise learning in the classroom, in order to take full advantage of the fantastic new facilities we are investing in for the new building.
As part of these days, ALL teaching staff are attending the world-renowned British Educational Training and Technology (or BETT) Show, as we prepare to move forward in an all embracing digital world.

There will be no students at school on the above dates.

Young London Artist Awards 2015

Our school's young artists have been praised by professional artist Roxana Halls - one of the judges of the seventh annual Young London Artists’ Awards held here in Dartmouth Road this week for being inspiring; challenging; provocative; confusing and delightful.

Ms Halls’ comments came just before she made the presentation of first prize to Sydenham girl and SFH6 student Megan Nightingale from Nunhead for her abstract, sculptural and photographic work inspired both by modern architecture and the weathered buildings and boats of Dungeness.

Second place also went to a former Sydenham School Student when Maddy Scott-Berry won runner up for her piece in which she captures the inner turmoil and troubled life of a distant relative.
